K.B. Robins

About the Author

K.B. Robins

K.B. Robins writes science fiction that examines the systems we build, the lies we accept, and the quiet ways complicity becomes survival. Their debut novel, Expected Behaviour, explores a future where the comfortable middle benefits from a machine designed to forget most of humanity ever existed.

Drawing on an interest in how economic systems shape daily life, Robins crafts stories where the horror lies not in cruelty but in indifference — in systems so reasonable that no one questions them, and so thorough that questioning feels pointless.

When not writing, Robins can be found investigating the gap between how things are supposed to work and how they actually do.

Themes & Influences

Systemic Complicity

How ordinary people sustain extraordinary systems by simply not looking.

Manufactured History

Who controls the past controls the present. What happens when the archive is a weapon.

Indifference as Horror

The terror of not being hated, just unseen. Of being no one's enemy because you're no one at all.

Hope as Resistance

That survival itself is defiance. That knowing the truth matters even when it changes nothing immediately.
